4 days left..

I'm having a great time here in hungary with my medve. we've spent most of our time in budapest, and last weekend in szombathely. i was wandering around in pest a little bit on my own, as balint had to go to the uni. my first impression of hungary's capital was positive, even though the weather wasn't nice at all. but only after balint and his sister zsofi showed me the best parts of the city i can say that budapest is a really nice palce. it has got a briliant location - on two sides of duna river and it is sorrounded by some quite big hills (i would say small mountains). there're many charming places, as views from those hills and from duna banks are amazing! during the day and by nite. and what impressed me a lot are those old, also renewed buildings like castles, palaces, churches, old houses and some ruins that look mediterranean alike. and with this lovely weather that has been here for a week, you can really feel like somewhere in greece for instance. central europe rules! what's also worth mentioning is our luck or badluck, as excatly when we arrived to budapest, a political affair happened. it's a scandal that hungarian prime minister is involved in, as it turned out and it was publicly announced that him as well as fellows from his party have done anything good (if not nothing at all) for the country since they won the election. after revealing this, those from opposition got furious and stated organising even violent protests. they want the prime minister to resign. i have to also add that he said this to his fellows, because he doesn't want to lie any more and he wants a change for better. i don't want to write about this more though, because i'm not informed that well and i'm not invloved in politics either. so i'll leave this subject for those who have got more to say. just to sum it up, since this affair started, we've watched this terrible manifestations on tv and once in reality. events from first and second nite were quite serious. its participants showed a lot of violence and they put a fire in a tv building (old and very prestigious i must say). as i'd mentioned earlier, we spent saturday and sunday outside budapest. on sat morning balint brought me to that little and honestly cute village called tihany. it's on the hill as welland what's the most important by boloton lake (huge and pretty). we had a very yummy meal there - harcsa paprikas , which is a catfish in a traditional paprika sauce served with turos teszta (unfortunately i can't put hungarian letters right now) - home made noodles (more like pasta) with cottage cheese (well, for the english, as here in the east we've got twarog and this differ from cottage cheese quite a lot) and fried, crunchy bacon bits (skwarki for the polish). in general, i like hungarian food, especially balint's mum;) some of those things she's made up by herself! my no.1 in hungary is thick spinach soup called spenot fozelek. not mentioning national sousagges and wines! those home made/local as well as those from shops are really really nice. on saturday nite we were partying a bit in szombathely (yeah, local discos rules as well!;P) and sunday was just a perfect day. we went for a trip with medve's parents to a few villages (i can't remember amusing and complicated names of those) just by the austrian borderline. it was really pretty there: hills, old cottages and lots of grapes, as locals produce wine mainly as their hobby. after that we visited koszeg, very pleasent little town with a nice square. there i tried langos and funny looking spiral pastry covered in sugar and baked by spining it on a kind of metal stick above fire. today, we're back in budapest, and i still have 4 more days for discovering the city and what's the most important, enjoying my time with medvekomam. kiss for you my priceless treasure! ;*
