11th November is an Independence Day in Poland. on that day in 1918 we got back our independence after 123 years of being ruled by Prussia, Russia and Austria.

Oh funny!
It is a special day in France as well.
We are celebrating the end of the first world war. There are lots of paradesand the president is doing very long and boring speeches :)
It is also a day of memory and it is bank holiday. That is the best part of it.
;) yeah, there it is also a Rememberance Day in many other countries. all this events derived from First World War or maybe rather, the end of it. it's also this Poppy Appeal thing that relates to those who served for military services and sacrifised their lives for us during WW1 and other wars.
btw, Julie, i still don't know how to leave comments on your blog.. well, Balint's not here anymore so he can't tell me, but you can!;)
